Greystone's Privacy Commitment is outlined in the following 10 principles. Each principle has been developed to guide and govern the values established by the Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Principle 1 - Accountability
Each GSFI member is responsible for maintaining and protecting the client's information under its control. Each member firm is required to designate an individual or individuals who is accountable and responsible for its company's compliance with PIPEDA.
Principle 2 - Identifying the Purposes
Members will develop methods that clearly identify which client information shall be required before or at the time information is collected.
Principle 3 - Obtaining Consent
Establishing consent from the client is a requirement of the collection and its use or disclosure of personal information, except where required or permitted by law.
